Food Warehouse:

Warehouse/Food Distributors
– Tuesday, 9:30am to 12Noon and Monday, 1:00pm to 3:30pm.
Duties include assisting with intake of donated food,
preparing food packages and distributing food to SERVE
clients.
Prerequisite:
Must be 16 years old and up.

Food Pickup Driver
– URGENT NEED!! Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, 8:00am to
12:00pm. Make food
pickups at various area grocery stores and restaurants.
Prerequisite:
Must be 21 and over; driving record check required.

Front Desk Assistant
– URGENT NEED!!
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday 9:00am to 12Noon
or 1:00pm to 3:30pm; or Wednesday 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Duties
include pulling files, making copies, processing families to
receive food and answering their questions regarding SERVE
and/or referring to other agencies.
Prerequisite:
Must be 18 and over, with moderate computer and
customer service skills.
Bilingual skills in Spanish are a big help!

Shift Manager and Office Assistant
– Seven days a week, all hours.
Both positions
are needed particularly on evenings and weekends.
Duties include answering phones, transferring calls
to correct extensions or voicemails, assisting Shelter
residents with questions, dispensing medications to Shelter
residents, making public address announcements as necessary,
and assisting Shelter staff with certain projects.
Prerequisite: Must be
at least 18 years old.

Weekend/Holiday Meal Preparation
– Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Meals to be
prepared for 60 residents and either brought in or prepared
on-site in our kitchen facility.
Great for church groups and Scout troops!
Duties include preparation of meals, setting up and
serving meals and post-meal cleanup.

The Family Care Shelter is in need of having a
broom closet type
enclosure built to house the mops, brooms, etc. when not in

SPECIAL PROJECT #2:
The Family Care Shelter is in need of having
a garbage can enclosure built that is similar in appearance
to those enclosures used in fast food restaurants and would
hold a garbage can.
The enclosure would need to have a hinge door on it to allow
residents to throw out their trash, along with a door that
could be opened to remove the garbage can for emptying.

Children’s Activities Specialist
- URGENT NEED!!
Volunteers are needed for child activities on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in
the Shelter. Help
Child Services staff with children’s activities.
Prerequisite:
Must be at least 16 years old; Criminal Background
check required for those interested in volunteering for
recurring activities with children.

Transitional Housing Children’s Activities Specialist
– Some Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
Two or three volunteers are needed to assist the
Transitional Housing Coordinator in watching the children in
SERVE’s Transitional Housing program while their parents are
in Life Skills classes.
Prerequisite:
Must be at least 15 years old.

Receptionist/Office Assistant
– URGENT NEED!! Tuesday,
9:00am to 12:00pm, Monday through Friday afternoons, 1:00pm
to 4:00pm. Duties
include answering phones, transferring calls to correct
extensions or voicemails, assisting clients with questions
and assisting administrative staff with certain projects.
Some knowledge of MS Word and Excel would be helpful,
but is not required.
Prerequisite:
Must be 18 years old and up, and have some experience
with computers, MS Office and the Internet.
Some experience with customer service helpful.
Bilingual skills in Spanish
are a big plus!

Life Skills:

Life Skills Instructor
– gives a one hour block of instruction in such areas as
budgeting, self-esteem, career development, health or
nutrition to the residents of the Family Care Shelter.
Life Skills classes are given on Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
Prerequisite:
Must be 21 years old and up, some experience with
classroom instruction helpful.

Computer Instructor
– gives a one hour block of instruction on basics computer
topics such as Basic Computer, Internet, MS Word and MS
Excel.
Prerequisite:
Must be 21 years old and up, knowledge of computers,
MS Office products and the Internet a must.

Transitional Housing Life Skills Instructors
– our Transitional Housing program is in need of Life Skills
Instructors to give a one hour class on Wednesday evenings
from 6:45pm to 8:00pm to the residents of SERVE’s
Transitional Housing program.
The student population would consist of between 8 and
10 individuals who currently reside in Transitional Housing.
Topics would include budgeting, self-esteem,
health/nutrition or parenting.
Several topics may be determined by the Transitional
Housing Coordinator.
Prerequisite:
Must be 21 years old and up, some experience with
classroom instruction helpful.

Self Esteem Group Leaders
- volunteers with a background in counseling are needed to
moderate self-esteem sessions for the male and female
residents of Transitional Housing.
These sessions would meet on a Thursday evening from
6:45pm to 8:00pm, and can meet on other nights as necessary.
Prerequisite:
Must be 21 years old and up, experience with
classroom instruction and/or leading a support group
helpful.
